Role overview

We are looking for a Backend Engineer to design and operate the services behind our GPU database: ingestion pipelines, search and comparison APIs, and the systems that keep specification data accurate and fresh. You will work closely with frontend engineers and stakeholders to deliver dependable APIs at scale.

What you will do

  • Design, implement, and document HTTP APIs (REST and/or JSON-over-HTTP) consumed by our Next.js application and internal tools.
  • Own data modeling, validation, and migration strategy for structured GPU and manufacturer records; ensure consistency across releases.
  • Build and maintain ETL or scraping-adjacent workflows (scheduled jobs, queues, idempotent workers) with observability and alerting.
  • Improve reliability: rate limiting, caching, pagination, backoff, and graceful degradation under load.
  • Participate in on-call rotation for production services (rotation is lightweight and supported by runbooks—we grow the team before burden grows).

Requirements

  • 4+ years of backend or full-stack experience with a strong backend focus.
  • Proficiency in TypeScript or Node.js for service development or strong experience in Python / Go with willingness to ramp on our stack (documented onboarding plan).
  • Solid grasp of relational databases (PostgreSQL or similar): indexing, transactions, migrations, and query performance.
  • Experience operating services in Linux environments: configuration, logging, metrics, and basic Docker usage.
  • Pragmatic testing habits (unit and integration tests for critical paths).

Nice to have

  • Experience with serverless or edge platforms, Redis or similar caches, and search-oriented workloads (full-text search, faceting).
  • Background in data quality: deduplication, schema versioning, and audit trails.
  • Prior work on catalog, marketplace, or reference-data products.

Benefits

  • Competitive salary and performance-based bonus.
  • Medical, dental, and vision for US employees; retirement plan with employer match.
  • Flexible PTO, remote-first culture, and hardware budget.

Hiring process

  1. Intro call (30 minutes)
  2. Backend-focused technical interview (system design + coding)
  3. Team and values conversation
  4. Offer
